Dr. David Block
EVTC Director
Dr. Block was one of the original seven faculty members in the College of Engineering at UCF when the university opened its doors in September 1968. He is a Professor in the Civil Engineering and Environmental Science Department. He was the Associate Dean of Engineering in 1969 and held that position until assuming the Director's position at the FSEC in 1977. FSEC was created in 1975 and was led by Dr. David Block for 25 years, during its initial startup and the development of its long term research program. Dr. Block has demonstrated time and again an ability to organize and lead research programs with a diverse group of institutions and individuals. He recently received and successfully managed “The Florida Hydrogen Initiative (FHI)” program, which was funded by the US Department of Energy. Dr. Block will be the EVTC Center Director.
