Katherine supports the Director of the Hawai'i Natural Energy Institute (HNEI) with planning, organization and performance of projects, proposals and outreach. HNEI faculty and staff work together with an extensive array of stakeholders to perform research, conduct testing and evaluation, and manage public-private partnerships across a broad range of renewable and enabling technologies. HNEI’s technical areas of focus encompass alternative fuels, renewable power generation, electrical grid integration, energy efficiency, and battery and fuel cell systems. Katherine also serves as Project Manager for HNEI’s University Transportation Center in collaboration with the Florida Solar Energy Center. Prior to joining HNEI, her work with industry, nonprofits and government focused on developing and implementing evolving technology, energy and economic development solutions. As a professional engineer, Katherine has more than 25 years of experience managing and performing high-profile programs and multiple projects in engineering, research, business and economic development.
